Anna's Bay is known for it's choir. Traveling from a small town in Washington to perform Handel's Messiah at Lincoln Center in New York would do that. Did you know that there is MORE to Anna's Bay Center for Music than just the chorale? One of the programs Anna's Bay coordinates is our Visiting Artist series. Anna's Bay partners with professional musicians and local music teachers to have world class musicians from all over the globe come into music classrooms in Mason County.

Dr Tim Smith

In September 2016, Dr Tim Smith visited Shelton High School and Pioneer School to work with their choirs on vocal technique and choral sound.

Dr Tim Smith travels the world teaching music. He is a professional cellist as well as an accomplished pianist and guitarist. His love for working with musicians naturally integrates with his skills as a choral and orchestral director, songwriter, arranger, teacher, college professor, and worship leader.  Anna's Bay Center for Music, through generous grants from the Shelton Rotary Club, Encore Arts, and private donors, were able to bring this world class musician into our public schools.

In October 2016, Michael Partington was in town to work with Mason County music students, as well as give a concert at St David's in downtown Shelton. (purchase tickets here).

Mr. Partington has appeared throughout the USA, UK, Canada, Russia and Scandanavia in solo recital, with orchestra and in chamber ensembles. His North American appearances include the first solo guitar recital in Seattle's Benaroya Hall, as well as Town Hall and Meany Theater in Seattle, Austin, Los Angeles, New Haven, Phoenix, Portland, Reno, San Francisco, Vancouver and many others. Concerts in England and Wales have included Blackheath Halls, the Royal College of Music, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and St. James', Piccadilly in London; the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff; St. Mary in the Castle, Hastings; Bristol Music Club; Russell-Cotes Museum, Bournemouth; Brewery Arts Centre, Kendall; Trinity Arts Centre, Tunbridge Wells; Nottingham; Carlisle; Derby; and others. He has performed live on BBC Radio 3's In Tune, BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Wales and Great Western Radio in the UK, as well as St. Paul Sunday on National Public Radio in the US, KUOW, KING FM, KZAZ, and KAOS in Washington, JPR in Oregon, KUT in Texas, and cable television in California, Montana and Washington.

Anna's Bay brought him to Mason County to work with our music program .through the same generous grants from Encore Arts and Shelton Rotary Club.
